CD Forum founder and head to step down

Founder and executive manager of the Central District Forum for Arts & Ideas, Stephanie Ellis-Smith, will depart her post succeeding year. After more than 10 years of leadership, Ellis-Smith said she volition step downward in June 2009.

Ellis-Smith launched the Central District Forum (CD Forum) after working for the Jacob Lawrence Catalogue Raisonn� Project, an extensive undertaking that documented the work by the pioneering African-American artist.

Sean Paul Busy With Swedish Cops

This year it was the cops who got busy at the Uppsala Reggae Festival.

Sean Paul was arrested on suspicion of marijuana possession Friday after getting swept up in a law raid at the annual Swedish music fest, which takes situation in the town of Uppsala, about 110 miles north of Stockholm.

Kinda like shooting fish in a barrel, though, isn't it?

Anyway, per TMZ, the Jamaican artist was one of 200 to 300 people�including 10 performers�who were hauled off to a local police station for questioning. Police said that they collected evidence at the scene and an investigation into the allegedly smoky shenanigans is currently underway.

One of Denmark's near respected and longest persistent death metallic element bands, Illdisposed were formed in the townsfolk of Ã…rhus in 1991, and managed to secure a record deal on the forcefulness of their very first gear demo, entitled The Winter of Our Discontempt. Led by unusually named vocalizer Bo Summer (specially unusual for a death metallic element ring!) and guitarist Lasse Bak, the group was rarely able to sustain a regular card for very long, but however recorded a cosmic string of albums, including 1993's Four Depressive Seasons 1994's Refund from Tomorrow EP, 1995's Give in, 1997's There's Something Rotten in the State of Denmark, and 2000's Retro covers set. In 2001, Bo Summer began splitting his fourth dimension between Illdisposed and competing Danish death alloy favorites Panzerchrist, but that hasn't stopped up him from reconvening his original ring for subsequent albums like that same year's Kokaiinum, 2004's 1-800 Vindication, and 2006's industrial-leaning Burn Me Wicked.

Winehouse suffering from skin infection?

Amy Winehouse has responded to rumours that she was involved in a fight last week, saying her bruised and swollen face is down to a mystery skin infection.
The singer was photographed on Friday with a painful-looking swelling on the side of her face, prompting speculation that she had been hit.
However her spokesman insists the singer has come down with a mystery illness and is seeking medical help.
He told the Daily Star: "Amy has a skin infection which is why her face looks the way it does. At this stage she has no idea what it is but she's getting to a doctor to try and identify the problem.
"She's not in any pain but, obviously, she wants to get it sorted as soon as possible."

Scarlett Johansson played her debut album, 'Anywhere I Lay My Head', to journalists at a listening party in Fresh York yesterday.
Billboard reports that the launch took position at Joe's Gin mill in the city.
'Anywhere I Lay My Head' features 10 covers of Turkey cock Waits songs and one original runway, 'Song for Jo'; it will be released on 20 May.

BBC Radiocommunication 1 has reversed its decision to censor the classic Pogues and Kirsty MacColl song 'Fairytale of Fresh York'.
The station had decided to bleep out the word of God "faggot" from the sung because it could be offense to listeners.
Merely BBC 1 controller Andy Parfitt said last night: "After careful considerateness, I throw decided that the decision to blue-pencil the Pogues birdsong Cock-and-bull story of Fresh York was legal injury."
Parfitt said that the song did non use the parole with any "negative intent".
